Looking to travel to Caracas, but im kinda eary about going.?

I was looking to travel to Caracas but considering the political ties between Venezula and the U.S. im not so sure if It would be wise to do so. Any Suggestions.

I was there a couple of months ago and didn't have a problem, I found that Venezuelan people were genuinely friendly and nice!  There are a lot of Chavez supporters, but this does not mean that they hate America.  If I were you I would be more concerned about petty theft in Caracas than anything else.  If you're going to Venezuela you really should try and get out of Caracas and see some of the countryside too . . . Angel Falls is amazing, there are blissful Carribean beaches to chill on, the Andes around Merida are spectacular and the wildlife down in los llanos rivals that of the amazon.
