  1. Well he's right about this country sending to the tune of $700 billion per year to our enemies for oil.   THAT is just plain stupid.  IF we were to supply ourselves with our own oil, all that money would now be in our own economy.

  2. I'm sure he's just having a senior moment.

  3. The link below is to the text of the Congressional Resolution authorizing offensive military operations against Iraq which was passed in October of 2002. Begin reading after the first "whereas". Precious little mention of WMDs.  I hope you have enough salt for your own shoe.

  4. Really ?

  5. And there was never any evidence that there weren't weapons of mass destruction there. They probably were all taken across the border into Iran.

  6. Anyone with a brain in their skull knows that the Iraq invasion was a personal vendetta Bush Jr. had against Saddam for supposedly trying to assassinate Bush Sr. in Kuwait in '93.  The WMD and saving the Iraqi people was just window dressing to get the gullible American public to back it.

As far as the WMDs go:

Inspections by the U.N. restarted from November 2002 until March 2003, but hadn't turned up any evidence of actual WMDs when the United States and the "Coalition of the Willing" invaded Iraq and overthrew Saddam Hussein in March 2003.

Great controversy emerged when no stockpiles of WMDs were found, leading to accusations that the United States, its President George W. Bush in particular, had deliberately inflated intelligence or lied about Iraq's weapons in order to justify an invasion of the country. The Center for Public Integrity asserted President Bush's administration made a total of 935 false statements between 2001 and 2003 about Iraq's alleged threat to the United States.  While various leftover weaponized WMDs and weapons components from the 1980s and 1990s have been found, most weapons inspectors now believe that Iraq's chemical weapons program did indeed cease production after 1991. The U.S.-led Iraq Survey Group asserted in 2004 that Saddam "never abandoned his intentions to resume a CW effort when sanctions were lifted and conditions were judged favorable".

What really pisses me off about McCain is that he, of all people, knew that invading Iraq was an abuse of authority by the Bush administration, but instead he played the role of a "good soldier" and backed the invasion.
