Question:

Loose Adult Teeth? Help.?

I have a question.

I noticed I was grinding my teeth in my sleep maybe a week or so ago. I also noticed that a couple of my top front teeth had grinding damage and were losing their shape. One has a curve in it and the other is slowly getting flattened.

My dad went and got me some DenTek night guard thing. It's blue and molds too your teeth. I did the whole molding process.

Well, it took me a while to actually sleep with it in all night. [I kept spitting it out when I was sleeping.]

Yesterday I woke up. I slept with it in all night. I was so proud. Except my top teeth felt really weird, numb, and soft.

I touched them and I realized my two front teeth were very, very loose.

Like, I could feel them slightly wiggle but couldn't see anything in the mirror. I thought I was paranoid.

I don't know if it was from the brace or if they were like that before.

They only moved a little. Today is the third day of this nightmare.

Each day they're getting looser. Today they feel kinda numb, kinda ichy, and kinda tingley. What is that for?!

I'm going to cry.

I don't want to lose my teeth. These are my adult teeth!

Are they gonna fall out?! :[

Oh, & I forgot to mention this, which probably has something to do with this nightmare.

My gums have decided to bleed and c**p everytime I brush and floss, which I do twice a day every day. I don't understand whyyy they're being so difficult and bleedy when I take care of them! Now I've uped it to three times a day and I bought some Listerine mouthwash.

It's not helping, though!!!

My dad said he's going to make me a cleaning appointment when he comes back from Canada in a week, but I'm terrified they're not going to last that long.

D: What's going on?!

  1. Speak to your mom or guardian NOW and have them take you to a dentist, clinic or some other dental facility NOW!

  2. Calm down, the first thing you should do is see the box of the night-guard for any side effects, etc.

Next you should relax and wait. If your teeth are coming out, their gonna come out. The dentist cant glue them in.

You should keep in mind that if your teeth are coming out, your body is rejecting them. That means there is something wrong with them.

There is absolutely nothing you can do until your dentists appointment. Until then, relax...

  3. You are still grinding your teeth, but now your teeth aren't fitting the way they did without the nightguard ...  it's kinda of like what happens with braces ...  the looseness is the teeth are moving, not falling out ...

you need to get to a dentist and ask them to give you a higher-end night guard ...  they have some that are really small and won't cause so much movement ...

  4. An over the counter night guard isn't safe but can actually damage the teeth because they are not hard and when you continue to grind at night you actually chew on this guard.

You need to go to the dentist right away.

  5. i think u need a dental check up as soon as possible

itching is suggestive to an underlying cause. it is actually a form of response, a form of pain. bleeding is as well a sign of an underlying problem.

nightgrinding really needs to be resolve. an over the counter mouthpieces are but okay but a custom made is highly recommended. the arch and contours are definitely unique from any. the mouthpiece u used might have traumatized the opposing teeth due to ur excursion.

the bleeding and mobility are signs of possible periodontal problem. oral prophylaxis and scaling are some of the routine procedures. sometimes it is not the frequency of brushing but the way of brushing. so a professional cleaning must be done least every 6 months.

i have nothing against listerine but... check the alcohol content. the lesser percentage the better! but this doesn't count on the major concern.

i wound say visit ur dentist now, so long as the teeth are still in the mouth, there should be a way to resolve it if there is really a problem . so make that that appointment and u'll worry less:)
