Question:

Loose Shoes and Roller Coasters?

I was trying to get on the roller coaster at the Santa Monica Pier with my flip flops in my hand. They told me I had to wear them on the ride. I asked what if they fall off. The guy said if they fall off it's not their problem.

Anyone here either had their shoe fall off on a ride or knew someone that did? If your shoe gets lost and they don't help you get it back, are you supposed to walk around with one shoe on?

  1. well that must off sucked but i always wear shoes they just make no sence at all

  2. That is c**p. Here at Kings Island they have drop bins as you enter the ride for you to put your stuffed animals, shoes, purses, sunglasses, etc. At Kings Island they always say you can only retrieve your stuff after the park closes, but I have seen KI's ride ops jump the fence under the coasters and get people's stuff for them. I went on Drop Tower last week, and one of the attendants held my sunglasses for me.

Cedar Point is more strict about the loose article policy because of the tremendous speed and height of their rides and coasters. Most of the big rides have a locker at the entrance, or a drop bin as you enter to ride.

The people at the park you went to need to be more accommodating, and it IS their problem if you lose your shoe because the park obviously did not do their research on what is best for their riders. You have every right to be mad.
