Loosing the Uefa cup place from the Scotish cup?

If we lose the Uefa cup place from the Scotish cup, then surely the fairytale and romance of football is taking with it?

Being a Queens fan that lapped up the game last night, how can people deprive the fans of the smaller club the opportunity to experience what we have felt over the last few months?

It has lifted the whole town and made us all believe again.

Having watched the Queens game last night can i say how proud we doonhamers are of the efforts of our team!

I think even the old firm teams would be proud of a performance away from home in europe like Queens produced last night, Sure they lost 2 late goals but they had to push forward and give it a go and got caught on the sucker punch!

C'mon the queens!

  1. If its just the runners-up from the Scottish Cup who's UEFA Cup place is being took away, you can kind of see UEFA's point, but still does take the the romance out of it for any wee teams who get that far...

And by the way all credit to the auld Doonhamers for getting there AND doing themselves & Scotland Proud in Europe...!!

Ok,it wasn't a Barca or any the great teams but still a technically better team and QoS were punching above their weight, but in the first half you wouldn't know it as the gave as good as they got ..

As for one of the answers below talking about the Champions League reverting back to only each country's' League Champions,it ain't going to happen as the current format came about in reaction to moves from the bigger clubs towards forming a European Super League....

But anyways,Hope the Queens fans had a rare old party in Denmark last night, they deserve it....much respect..

  2. Can I say what an amazing performance from QoS last night? I think they lost due to tiredness late on, which was not surprising due to the work rate those guys had put in.

was a good game of football and the fans should be proud.

I as a Celic fan would have been proud if we had performed like that...

  3. queens were good last night in the first half, but just shows hope cra* the eufa cup comp. just looked at tonites fixtures never heard of most of the teams and next year will be the same. whole load o minnows. time to have the champions league for champs and uefa cup for runners up then you will see the best of europe every year they way it used to be and not a money making venture

  4. we wont lose the uefa cup spot for the winners of the scottish cup but uefa in their wisdom have decided that the losers of the final cannot qualify for it

  5. To be honest if a team that isn't even in the top division in their country can play in it then it devalues the competition so I think its the right move for UEFA, they should go a step further and do the same with all countries. Maybe even make the Champions League just for Champions.

  6. If we lose the place from the Scottish cup then surely England should lose their one from the FA Cup and Carling Cup

  7. I live in galloway but I wasn't raised there and I was supporting the queens last night. I saw you guys were 1-0 up and thought how good. But when you drew I felt weird. Kind of sad for ye. You lost tho and that's the fact so you ain't through. Goes with every single team mate.

Yeah dundee, aberdeen and etch would be deprived of it if they got the same result.

Just the way it works mate!
