Question:

Loot bag ideas/feedback for a 9 year old girl's party?

I'm tossing around some loot bag ideas for my daughter's upcoming party, and wanted some ideas or feedback. I know as a parent that I hate when the kids come home with lootbags filled with dollarstore c**p (lead necklace, anyone??), so I don't want to waste my $ on something that most parents will toss and/or the kids couldn't care less about.

One idea I have is to give them each a disposable camera with film processing costs included, so they can all have their own pics from the party. The downside, is I worry if some might say that it's too much since they'll cost me about $10 each. I'd normally spend about $6-7 on lootbags, anyway, so is this really 'too much'?

Thank yoU!

  1. Girly-girl stuff---nail polish, lip gloss, diary, journals, stickers, pens, pencils, stationary, hair stuff, mirrors, keychains, magnets

The disposable camera is a good idea also.

  2. Maybe some little school supplies? Kids love brightly colored pencils, erasers in fun shapes, new crayons, little notebooks, stickers, that sort of thing. You could also get some fruit leather for treats instead of candy.

  3. I think thats a great idea. If there is not tons of guests its not too much...(if you feel its not) Otherwise, lip gloss, nail polish, stationary, all simple girly things are always loved...Also, art stuff..paint, markers..etc. I was just looking into something for my 4 yr olds.. any ideas for that? i checked the net, all I could find was the cheesy stuff, also there may be girls and boys...

  4. I don't think I'd do the camera thing. Just one more thing for a parent to do, run the kid to the store to get it processed. How about frisbees or balls of some kind, maybe squirt guns for summer, art supplies like markers, cool pens, maybe card games, maybe some bubblegum or candy if you don't think parents would object.

  5. I think it sounds like a great idea and kids love taking pictures! I think the parents would enjoy it too knowing their kids didn't get the usual loot bags. Sounds fun!

  6. I think that is a neat idea, and if you buy the camera's in bulk, it really won't cost as much as you may think. I wouldn't pay the processing costs though - just give them the camera to take pics with, and at the end of the party, I would collect the cameras and do the processing yourself - that would be much easier especially if you see the girls often.

The other thing you can do is little lip glosses, a couple of candies and such. If you are doing a theme party, you can probably buy a kit for each, so you won't have to buy things separately.
