  1. Hydrocodone is an opiate. You need medical help to detox or you will be really sick. There is a drug that knocks opiates out of the receptors in your brain and replaces them. It can help. Tranquilizers can help with withdrawl symptoms, but they are also addictive.

If you take opiates for pain and have become addicted, you should see a pain specialist. If you take them recreationally and want to quit, see an addiction medicine specialist.

Lorcet detox can be difficult because the drug falls into the opiate category (naturally occurring constituents of opium), causing both mental and physical addiction. Opiates travel rapidly through the bloodstream to the brain, where they stimulate opiate receptors, triggering intense feelings of pleasure and reward. (Hydrocodone creates sensations of pleasure by stimulating the body’s production of Dopamine.) This quick high is followed a state of relaxation and contentment that lasts for several hours. Concurrently, opiates act directly on the respiratory center in the brainstem, causing a decrease in the breathing rate of the user. When Lorcet® and/or other opiate-derivative drugs are used incorrectly, this breathing slow-down can be dangerous and even fatal.

Lorcet detox methods differ. Many traditional treatment centers have focused on talk therapy and the psychological aspects of addiction, while others treat the often unbearable symptoms of withdrawal. The rate of success with traditional methods, however, has been low.

  2. If you are having narcotic withdrawal symptoms you need to talk to your doctor about a tapering schedule and slowly coming of medication.  You will not die stopping cold turkey but it may not be too fun.  You didn't mention how long or how much you have been taking.   The degree of withdrawal symptoms will be dependent on both dose and duration of use.

  3. you shoud talk to the dr who prescribed them to you. If you have been taking them for a long time you may expirience wihtdrawl symptoms such as headaches, nausea ect. I would wean off of them. Break them in half. start taking it every other day, then only 2 tiems a week and so on.

Bu tif you have an addiction, you may need to go to rehab and detox. Its better if you were under supervision in case something bad does happen to you. You dont want to be alone!
