Lord Gale oozing with chances of bagging the Irish Field Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse on 9th April

Fairyhouse is to host the Irish Field Handicap Hurdle over two miles and six furlongs on Monday 9th April. The lineup assembled for the race includes twenty-five runners who will invade the track in order to get entitled to the €14, 950 purse.
Quite a few candidates have already raced at the race course but till yet have not been able to post a victory while racing at Fairyhouse.
A contestant with relatively more experience and exposure on the track that also during the new season is Lord Gale, Bach’s six-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Wire Lady, not that he has claimed any race but he did not even suffer through any miserable
losses.
Two out of the four outings that he undertook during the new season were at Fairyhouse. He entered the new season by scoring second in the Bobbyjo Bistro Maiden Hurdle on 1st January over two miles and four furlongs.
The winner of the race was Don’t Back Down riding with P. Carberry while the 4/6 favourite runner up was paired with P. Townend. Coming at terms with the third position was Best Legend.
Lord Gale’s ranking for the third start of the season did not improve, neither stayed the same rather took a step down with finishing third in the Tote Jackpot Maiden Hurdle on 11th February over two miles and three furlongs.
The title was taken away by Bridgets Pet while joining him on the other end of the wire was Troubled who missed the victory by just half a length. Lord Gale was once again sent as the favourite of the race but could not come at par with the expectations
associated with it. This time he was riding with Ruby Walsh.
He did make an effort in the most recent start by qualifying as the runner up in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle on 4th March at Leopardstown over two miles and four furlongs.
He does not only have the strongest chances of winning the race today but also will get sent as the favourite a third straight time. Not that the victory will come easy as the lineup is fairly competitive.
