"In chapter one, how does Golding let the reader know that the island which the boys believe is a paradise, is a dangerous place?" Thats one of my many summer reading questions and honestly i just read chapter one. I found nothing that insists danger in the first chapter. Am i just over viewing something in the chapter, can someone help me please?
On sparknotes.com it says "But even at this early stage, we see the danger that the boys' innate instincts pose to their civilization: the boys cruelly taunt Piggy, and Jack displays a ferocious desire to be elected the group's leader"
Is my question trying to specify the physical aspects of danger or natural human instinct? any help is greatly appreciated. 10 points to best answer
