In writting an essay. I need to express who most suits the role of a confidant in the book Lord of the Flies and discuss the various ways in which this character functions in the work.

Confidant: One to whom secrets or private matters are disclosed.

A character in a drama or fiction, such as a trusted friend or servant, who serves as a device for revealing the inner thoughts or intentions of a main character.

  1. Piggy.  Simon's trouble is that he can't really explain himself.  Piggy can.  Piggy is Ralph's confidant.

    PS it's 'writing' not 'writting'.


  2. simon definitely. he isn't affected by the chaos on the island and he is his own person. and he also happens to keep his sanity along with ralph, until he dies, then you notice ralph starts to lose it.
