Lord of the Flies english assignment

I have an english honors summer assignment which I need help with. The novel mentioned is Lord of the Flie, by William Golding.

"Consider poetry from various cultures and from different time periods. In a 2-3 page essay, draw an interesting, original, and creative comparison between both your selected poem and the novel. Incorporate excerpts from both texts."

What I need help with is finding a poem that connects to the theme of this book. I kind of have an idea of what the theme is, but I have no idea of any poems that would connect to it. Help me please?

Do Shakespeare's plays qualify? It would be easy to draw a comparison between LOTF and, say, King Lear or Macbeth. You might take just a passage from S. What you want is a passage in which civilization is chucked and hostility emerges. The assassinating scene in Julius Caesar would probably work. What you might do is pick just one Act of S and work with that.

Your essay is difficult because I'm not sure there are that many stand alone poems which are thematically similar to LOTF.
