Lord of the rings Battle for middle earth not responding?

Question

I just bought this game and the expansion today, installed both with no problems, but when I try to run either game they just sit at the loading screen and dont do anything, when i check the task manager it says they are not responding. I dont know why this is happening as my system is well above the minimum requirements. My system is:

Windows Vista Home Premium (x64) Service Pack 1

2.40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad Q6600

Optiarc DVD RW AD-7201A ATA

NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT x 2

500 Gb hard drive

Does anyone have any ideas at all about why this could be happening?

Vista has some SERIOUS compatibility issues, it's possible that game isn't fully compatible, try running it under XP mode, unfortunately I can't remember how to do it, but I think it would be worth a try.

Is the game trying to access the internet & being blocked by your firewall?

I have games completely lock my pc when this has happened to me.

Re: additional, is it showing up in explorer?

If not you may need to reinstall.

When you get it sorted try the 'Special Extended Edition' Mod it takes the game to another level!
