Lord’s and Commons Cricket Club funds scholarships for poor cricketing youth of India - Cricket News Update
The Lord’s and Commons Cricket Club has granted a scholarship worth 25,000 pounds, for India’s impecunious young cricketers to provide them with opportunities to polish their inherent talent along with completing their studies and meeting both ends.
The scholarship funds is named as ‘Lords and Commons Cricket India Scholars’. Under this programme, the young and talented boys from different schools will be trained at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780. The trainees’ education and living expenses
will also be funded.
The plan was unveiled yesterday during the lunch break on Day 5 of the 1st Test match between India and England at Lord’s. The president of Lord’s and Commons Cricket Club handed over the grant documents to Team India’s manager, Anirudh Chaudhry.
The move was aimed at cementing the relationship between the two top cricketing nations of the world at the historical stage of the 2000th Test game, which India lost by 196 runs after a strenuous struggle.
