Lorie Kane all set for Hero Women’s Indian Open
Canadian Lorie Kane, who boasts a solid profile on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, is going to take on rivals at the Hero Women’s Indian Open 2012, starting from November
30 at DLF Golf & Country Club, New Delhi, India.
Kane has been a talented golfer on the Ladies European Tour (LET) as well, but she is still seeking to end her winless stint and recording a victory in the current season
has become her number one aim.
The Canadian star may not have done well in most of the recent LPGA events, but her stunning profile reflects that she possesses a successful pro career.
Having grabbed four LPGA titles in her professional career, Kane is being expected to grab her first LET title in India. Turning professional in 1993, the LPGA titan is among
the few veterans who are still seeking to remain in the headlines, despite facing multiple challenges on and off course.
Her last victory was recorded at the LPGA Takefuji Classic in February 2001, and she has been struggling to prove her mettle since.
Observers said that although it will be hard to subdue young guns in Indian Open, Kane knows that her vast experience is going to give her an edge over rivals.
Observers further said that the 47-year-old professional needs to come up with a solid plan this time if she intends to snap out of slump.
Success is not impossible, and this is what is keeping her in confidence. But there are several flaws that Kane will have to fix before she can get back to her old form.
The Hero Women’s Indian Open is going to pit most of the top-ranked LET stars against each other, and veterans like Kane are expected to add shine to the already strong roster.
Defending champion Caroline Hedwall is also in the lineup, which means that the competition is set to see a nerve-racking battle. However, other players are also hopeful of grabbing a victory.
Spanish Carlota Ciganda, who may not be as favourite a contender as Hedwall, is being regarded as one of the strongest players in the field. The Spanish star is currently standing at the top
of the Order of Merit 2012.
