If u live in the los angeles/valley area, then can u tell me a good place to do a party like type? like a cheap hall, its for a baby shower really.

Try AMBROSIA in glendale, Ca....they serve food and enough room for a DJ and dance floor. I've been to a baby shower and it was very nice.
