Los Angeles Angels' slugger Albert Pujols comes back into lineup – MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels' slugger Albert Pujols is preparing to come back into the line-up after missing four games due to soreness in his right calf.
Former St. Louis Cardinals' Pujols was dropped for the first time from the line-up since he joined the Angels this Major League season.
“Obviously I'm not where I want to be, but it's good to be back in the lineup, I'm still going to be taking it easy. It doesn't bother me swinging, but running I'm still a little bit sore," said Pujols in detail and explained to the media all possible aspects of his comeback.
According to team sources, Pujols has not recovered fully but he is more than okay to play.
Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia is also looking pleased about the way things are happening for Pujols. He is looking optimistic and telling the media that his player will soon be performing like he was in the first half of the season.
Angels’ slugger Pujols was feeling quite comfortable into the 2012 Major League Baseball season but last Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox; he felt something problematic with his right calf which resulted in structural damage.
The management took quick action and gave him needed attention as now he somewhat recovered from calf tightness.
"Injuries in this game is something that's out of your control, Obviously it was tough, because we started a really good road trip, it was a big series in Detroit, and I had to miss that and it was pretty tough. It's tough, but I'm just glad to be back in the lineup today and hopefully for the rest of the season," said Pujols.
Before missing out in four games, Pujols was playing nicely but intelligently heading towards his target to help his team make it to the World Series.
Currently his hitting average which is quite consistent at .285 is sending a message to all the MLB teams that he will give them a hard time in the coming playoffs.
Along with his hitting, his 29 homers and 87 RBIs are also very prominent factors of Pujols’ current form.
