Los Angeles Angels’ Ervin Santana shows confidence on return – MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels’ starting pitcher Ervin Santana is showing confidence on his potential return in this year’s Spring Training in Arizona. He was happy for his performance against the Colorado Rockies where he struck out four and received two hits and
one walk.
Earlier on Wednesday in a game against the Chicago White Sox, he was hit on the right shoulder by a Sox’s line drive which caused him bruises on different parts of shoulder. However, since he returned as fully hit, he has spoken in the media and told them
about his recent condition and how well he is now after a week’s rest. “My arm feels good," Santana said. "I'm good. That I feel good, that was the best thing ever.”
The entire Angels management is happy on Santana’s return. They know that he is a good pitcher and has always played his top game whenever team needed him. Santana, who is an experienced Major League player and playing with the Angels since 2005, also knows
how far he has to take his game to show good results in this particular coming season. Various injuries have been causing him over the past two years while now he wanted to settle before the season opener in two weeks’ time.
In the meanwhile, the Angels are preparing hard for the next season. They are focusing on certain strategies and making sure that they will without doubt get the perfection on their late efforts. The Angels, this year, with Albert Pujols are feeling pretty
comfortable and hoping a competitive season all year long.
Recently, the Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia said for Pujols, "He has a great feel for what he needs to do. If there's a day he wants to play, he'll be in there. When a guy has a track record … everyone has different needs in spring training. Some just need
25 at-bats. Some want 60 to 70. It's just a preference."
Experts believe that the Angels’ possess relatively a good starting rotation this year and if they went ahead with the same batting and pitching line-ups, the results certainly will follow in the coming season.
