Los Angeles Angels’ Kendrys Morales seems ready to start Spring Training campaign
The Los Angeles Angels’ first baseman Kendrys Morales is fully recovered and now hoping to make a drastic comeback against the Kansas City Royals. Morales, whose surgically repaired ankle has barred him playing for almost one and half year, is receiving
green signals from the team doctors to start his Spring Training campaign with full swing.
On his potential start, Morales said in the media with hope and confidence, "I was a little disoriented [in timing pitches] but that'll come with time. Scoring the run was good because we tied the game and I kept running at the same pace.”
He added, “No pain. It was a big step [on home], especially after so much time. Now it's just a matter of getting back to where I want to be. Once I feel good running, I know I can do everything else."
Later the Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia also tried to explain the situation for media as to what extent his player can show his skills in the coming days. He said, “I think he's going to have to play himself into shape, He's a guy who has had to really work
hard at the conditioning aspect.”
Morales’ comeback is certainly a good sign for the Angels. He will definitely provide little stability to the roster. Morales’ presence has always given depth in the Angels’ batting line-up while also this time around, he is coming back with big heart and
energy. Since becoming professional in 2006, Morales has been performing tremendously and now considered one of the toughest players at first base in the entire League.
In the meanwhile, the Angels with the help of Albert Pujols is playing considerably well and showing its division teams some huge competitiveness. Experts believe that the way Angels are playing in this year’s Spring Training in Arizona’s Cactus League,
this is certainly a possibility that they will advance into the post season and can win the title as well. With Morales and Albert Pujols, the Angels’ batting line-up has become stronger and in the coming days it will further provide the actual level of stability
that the team was lacking for several years.
