Los Angeles Angels’ Torii Hunter confused over contract extension - MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels’ right fielder and veteran Torii Hunter is still not satisfied with the management on his contract extension worries. Hunter, who undoubtedly considered one of the best clean hitters of the ball and rather more offensive player in
the Angels’ roster, has lately expressed his inner thoughts on his contract which is about to last only a year now.
Hunter, who repeatedly has explained in the media about the relationship with the Angels and how much he cares about playing here in the South Los Angeles baseball franchise since becoming a team member in 2008.
Hunter’s growing age at the moment is the main concerned point for the experts who have been continuously criticising that his time is not over and he better be thinking about leaving the game. However, on the other hand, this possibility seems unrealistic
to many who believe that Hunter is a good player and he should be thinking for playing anther four to five years in the league.
Recently, Hunter’s views have also been published in a sports news website. Hunter said, "I won't give you a number, but I want to be here, the money stuff will play itself out. I'm not a guy who will try to get everything. At this point of my career, it's
about winning. If the Angels don't want me, I'll go to a team that has a chance to win.”
General Manager Jerry Dipoto is also pretty much pleased for Hunter and if the top Angels’ management provides him an extension in this coming season, this will automatically help the team in order to perform with more consistency.
In the meanwhile, the Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia recently has stated in the media telling details about Hunter, his worries and little predictions regarding his future. According to his statement, one can easily assemble the slight details about Hunter’s
future.
“I'm not going to get into last springs, first springs, whatever — I'm not going to refer to this being his last year," Scioscia said. "Torii is a unique player who is talented physically and very mentally strong. His presence in that clubhouse is felt.”
Now, the next coming days are crucial when the Angels’ management will be trying to solve all Hunter’s worries for contract extension, until then, everybody on Hunter’s side is keeping their fingers cross and waiting for some good decisions.
