Los Angeles Angels Vernon Wells struggling early in the season – MLB News
Former Toronto Blue Jays’ and current Los Angeles Angels player Vernon Wells is struggling to keep up the pace as the new Major League Baseball season has gotten intense. His recent performances in the several games are not steady while he is also receiving criticism for not being so consistent.
Some say he is coming off to more concerned circumstances and needs some extra time to adjust well in the team. He is now entering into his second straight season with the Angels after playing approximately ten seasons with the Blue Jays.
During his Blue Jays’ days, he was very phenomenal on the field and won many credentials proving his game among the elite of Major Leaguers. His Blue Jays’ days certainly were extraordinary as he won three-time All-Star selection along with three-Gold Glove awards, three-time Toronto Blue Jays MVP recognition, one Silver Slugger award, a Home Run Derby selection and won a Branch Ricky award for his brilliant game.
However, since he joined the Angels franchise in 2011, his debacle started as he lost all the composure he had in his game and since then struggling to regain his old game.
However, on the other hand, team manager Mike Scioscia is showing some optimism on Wells’ game and also showing slight confidence on Wells and commenting in the media as he is a good player and knows his important as well as his game. He just needs little time to adjust in the team.
Angels’ manager said, "Absolutely, He understands how much we need him. There could be some things players do from time to time to overcompensate for some things they're trying to correct. His bat speed is still incredible, and his hands are great, He just needs to settle in, and I think less will be more. He needs to keep it simple.”
These above comments suggest as how much the Angels management wants him to play well during the ongoing MLB season. This is also a positive factor that the Angels’ skipper is also backing Wells to take control of things and start some power plays in order to show everyone that he still possesses the right kind of abilities which will make him once again star in the league.
