Los Angeles Angels assistant general manager Scott Servais pushing players hard for 2012
The Los Angeles Angels are looking in great shape to rebuild their team after a disappointing 2011 season where they could not perform as expected. But with the recent appointment of their new assistant general manager Scott Servais, the Angels’ entire management
is very hopeful and expecting some good results in 2012.
Servais is also very exciting about his new role in the Angels franchise after learning the real trade of managing baseball players in a professional environment when he used to work in the Texas Rangers. He is now applying the same training method on the
Angels roster and spending some essential time with all the players and getting to know their style of play.
Some baseball journals have recently published some stories about Servais and his styles of training while his capacity to boost the entire roster. Servais, who himself has played baseball in the big league as catcher, mentioned in the media with big energy.
Servais said, ”I think it breaks down the walls with players, you have to get to know your own players better than anyone else's. You can make mistakes when you don't know your players well enough. Sometimes you trade the wrong guys, or maybe you don't give
enough guys a chance.”
Servais, who is considerably one of the best executives in the current Major League era, certainly has huge experience behind him and now trying hard to push forward the Angels for more confident results.
Many believe that his early affiliation with the Texas Rangers is the main reason why he has able to convert the extraordinary baseball skills into all the players whom he has trained in the past.
Even when Servais left the Rangers, the top executives there always remembered him as a team builder.
Recently, the Rangers’ assistant GM Thad Levine described all the inner feelings that he has for Scott Servais. He said, “It's a monumental loss for us, it’s going to take time in Anaheim, but in three, four or five years, you'll be looking at a model organization
from top to bottom. He will have a major impact on one of our biggest competitors, the division just got a lot better.”
Servais, who established a very unique farm system in the Rangers, received much admiration from many baseball pundits. Those players’ especially from the Rangers’ roster, who came from the Minor League farm systems, achieved better results from those who
never found any opportunities to go and learn some ball skills from Scott Servais in the franchise’s farm system.
Coming in the Angels franchise this offseason, Servais is already looking very confident for the results and with the level of commitment he is showing, the results seem eminent to follow.
