Los Angeles Angels beat Seattle Mariners 4-3 – MLB Recap
Los Angeles Angels defeated the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, September 26 at Angel Stadium in California.
Angels’ played much better than the Mariners’ and did not give any extra loop-holes and eventually won in style.
Torii Hunter showed his class and hammered the Mariners’ pitchers with great force and helped his team win this particular game.
With this victory, Angels have also won the series 2-0 with one game to spare.     
Hunter, who played a key role for the Angels, scored two RBIs on his five at-bats. He batted well and maintained his slugging percentage at .448.
“It's tough, because those games were over [before the Angels played]. That's when I said, 'I've got to bear down and make something happen, We're just laying in the weeds right now, They're the gazelle," Hunter said.
Third baseman Alberto Callaspo also helped his team with his one run and two hits. He showed good energy on the plate as he also maintained his slugging percentage at .364.
Pinch hitter Maicer Izturis added one run and smashed one hit on his single outing on the plate. He kept the Mariners’ pitchers under pressure and showed his offensive plays on his persistent .314 slugging percentage.
Along with batters, Angels' pitchers also played well and a rattled the Mariners' hitters with great determination.
C.J. Wilson pitched 5.1 innings and received only three runs and five hits. He was hammered with one homer while he also struck-out five Mariners’ batters on his persistent 3.86 ERA.
"He had some walks here and there, but he was able to get out of some innings without giving up a lot of damage, which is important, He let the leadoff guy on a couple of times, but he limited the damage that we were able to do in those innings when we could have broken through," said Seattle's Dustin Ackley about Wilson.
Relief pitcher Jerome Williams also supported his team-mate and starting pitcher as he tossed 1.2 innings and did not receive any run or hit on his 4.53 ERA.
