Los Angeles Angels change up-front strategy –MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels’ panic button has been pushed with recent defeat from the Cleveland Indians 2-3 while their overall 2012 Major League record now stands lame at 6-14.
With back to back defeats, the Angels’ top management has decided to change the upfront strategy to bring somewhat stability into the South Los Angeles baseball franchise.
They have called in specialist top prospect Mike Trout from their Minor League farm system Triple-A Salt Lake to main league and released Bobby Abreu from the roster just to catch-up the bigger gap that has been created by those late defeats.
This is also important to mentioned here that earlier some two days ago the Angels manager Mike Scioscia ruled out any new upfront change telling objectively about Trout that he will not be called in to rescue the team instead, the Angels’ top prospect will remain in the Minors for more experience, however now his stance has suddenly been changed in the favour of Trout and he is telling the media about his importance for the Angels.
Scioscia said with confidence, "There are parts of the club we need to get moving forward, I don't think it's going to be a cure-all, because other things definitely need to come into play. But this is a young, exciting player who is going to come up and hopefully contribute."
Later General Manager Jerry Dipoto also said in detail about the recent need his franchise is asking for.
Dipoto said, "We want to get Mike in the lineup, see if we can add a little energy, some spice, He's off to a great start. We're trying to shake it up a little bit. It's not comfortable for Arte [Moreno, Angels owner] or for us as an organization — that's a lot of money.”
Many experts believe that Mike Scioscia is doing well with his drastic last-minute changes, but some on the other hand think differently regarding all these new changes in the roster and not appreciating the way Scioscia is handling things by rotating his players to Minors to Majors with Trout’s arrival and Abreu’s release.
