Los Angeles Angels could trade starting pitcher Dan Haren – MLB Update
Los Angeles Angels poor results in 2012 Major League Baseball season is now provoking some crucial decisions to take for the betterment of their dire franchise.
Angels’ known as heavy spenders of 2012 now feel that they cannot bear any extra financial burden which has already ruined them in the recent past.
Reports are coming that their management could trade starting pitcher Dan Haren. Though this is not decided yet as which are the primary franchises interested in him but still speculations say that most of the American League teams possess potential to land the nine-year veteran.
As Angels’ finished 2012 regular season, their management sat down and intensely evaluated performance of all the players who underperformed despite having big contracts.
Angels’ finished third in American League West Division with 89-73 win-loss along with .549 winning percentage.
For a franchise that almost used their maximum financial resources to play for the ultimate price in the Major League came out with such a humiliating result was more than enough for their management to take these types of decisions which evolve some rotation changing.
"We're exploring a variety of different opportunities,'' Angels' GM Jerry Dipoto said.
Dipoto added, "We're making sure that we explore all the possibilities before coming to a conclusion and making a decision, I'm not going to speculate on news reports, what it is. I've made no secret about the fact that we were going to react or make a decision at the appropriate time, we're not to the point yet where we're on the clock."
Meanwhile, according to some experts, it is more likely a very good sign for both parties. Haren is a good player and he possesses some extraordinary pitching skills to adjust with any team in the league. While the Angels also will not mind much if they get some cash after trading Haren as that will enhance their ability to shop for some hitters for next Major League season.
It will be interesting to see what the Angels decide about Haren and the differernt changes that the team will be hoping to put in to place during the offseason.
