Los Angeles Angels crush Seattle Mariners 12-0 – MLB Recap
Los Angeles Angels crushed the Seattle Mariners 12-0 in the first game of their two-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, May 21 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in California.
Angels’ outplayed the Mariners in every department of the game and won a well deserved win in the series. Their batters and pitchers played wonderfully and rattled the Mariners with big force.
Angels’ pitchers held strong Mariners entire batting line-up and their batters played much offensive against the Mariners pitchers.
Short stop Erick Aybar scored two runs on two hits. He ran for an RBI on three at bats as he also maintained his slugging percentage of .344. Not only Aybar played well on the plate, but almost all the Angels batters looked confident as they approached their
home-field.
Centre fielder Mike Trout with his five RBIs stood tall against the Aaron Harang. He scored two runs on four hits on five at bats while he also maintained his slugging percentage of .558.
“It was one of those nights, I didn't really think about it until about the eighth inning. And when I got on deck, I started feeling it a little bit. To be honest, I thought Josh was going to hit for the cycle after his those first two at-bats. I wasn't
thinking about myself,” Trout said.
Trout added, “At 2-0, I think I was swinging at anything, It was in the back of my mind, trying to hit a home run. I just barreled it up and it went out. It feels great.”
Right fielder Josh Hamilton scored two runs on two hits. He also ran for two RBIs and maintained his slugging percentage of .381.
Second baseman Howie Kendrick also contributed with his one run and two hits. He also ran for two RBIs as his slugging percentage remained consistent at .475.
Along with batters, the Angels starting pitcher Jerome Williams also performed very well and never allowed the Mariners to score freely during the entire game.
Williams pitched eight scoreless innings and received only six hits. He struck out six Mariners on 2.53 ERA and played a huge role in the Angels’ win.
