Los Angeles Angels defeat Minnesota Twins 8-3 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Angels’ late winning streak is continues as they defeated the Minnesota Twins 8-3 on Monday, May 7 at Target Field, Minneapolis and took a commanding position in their three match regular series of 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win the Angels winning streak further strengthened to three-match. This is very pleasing for many that after so much pressure the Angels are coming back with spirited performances.
Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver put up a brilliant show and helped his team to take control of the game.
He pitched well in six innings and gave only one run. He was quite accurate with his strike zone and never allowed any Twins’ batter to play him easy. He struck-out two Twins potential hitters along with two walks and three hits.
Weaver said, “To have it happen once is pretty special. But to do it twice in a row, I don't see it happening ever again. I just felt gassed there a little bit. Obviously I'm one to kind push through stuff and ask to go one more, but I don't know if it was mentally draining or physically draining. I don't know what it was but I just felt a little gassed out there towards the end of the game."
On the other hand, third baseman Alberto Callaspo also provided a homer and helped the Angels in the ninth inning to steal the game from the Twins.
Later after the game, the team manager Mike Scioscia said for his team and their tremendous winning effort and most importantly for Weaver’s tremendous ball play, “Even though his pitch count wasn't high, he just didn't seem like he was in sync for most of the night.”
From start of game until it was finished, the Twins never looked in good shape. Their entire roster showed no serious game and lost in the end.
The Angels took early lead in the very first innings and kept the Twins’ trailing until they won the game in the last innings with style.
