Los Angeles Angels ease past Oakland Athletics 4-0 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Angels ease past the Oakland Athletics 4-0 in the first game of their three-match match regular series encounter on Monday, August 6 at O.co Coliseum in Oakland.
The Angels’ played much better on this particular outing and edged past the A’s with a relatively decent margin.
Going early into the lead, Angels never looked back and kept their hold of the game. They showed enormous power in all areas of play and proved too good for their opponents.
They made fewer mistakes than their opponents and later won the game in style. Angels’ entire roster looked confident when they entered the O.co Coliseum and settled early in the match. They showed their athleticism on the field and gave a glimpse to their opponents of the dominance they possess on the ground.
"Obviously, Weave set the tone and more. Incredible game," Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia said about his team and starter Weaver who was certainly unplayable for the Athletics’ hitters.
Angels’ hitters and pitchers played well and earned a great victory for their team.
Especially Angels’ starter Jered Weaver played well as he tossed nine solid innings. No doubt, he proved the real difference in his team’s victory.
"There's really no answer, Things have been going my way," Weaver said on his performance which proved one of the winning factors for the Angels.
Weaver added, “Coming out of the bullpen, didn't feel so sharp actually, I was telling Chris [Iannetta], we're going to have to battle today, and I was just hoping something clicked out there. Dan [Haren] said it right, you get through those first two, and something kind of clicks. It was one of those things where didn't feel too good in the bullpen, but was able to figure something out when I got out there."
He remained confident on the mound for nine innings as he did not receive any run. Though he allowed four hits but at the same time he struck-out nine potential A’s batters on his consistent 2.13 ERA.
On the other hand, the Athletics’ starter Jarrod Parker was smashed for four runs and nine hits. He also allowed four earned runs while he struck-out six opposing hitters on his 3.55 ERA.
