Los Angeles Angels hammer Boston Red Sox 10-3 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Angels hammered the Boston Red Sox 10-3 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, August 27 at Angel Stadium in California.
Angels' entire batting line-up played brilliantly and earned a great victory for their team. They all looked aggressive on the field and rattled the Red Sox in style.
Angels’ upfront batting line-up scored runs in quick successions and proved too good for the Red Sox.
"It's a big step forward for C.J., He got away from some of the things that make him so good. He's a lot better pitcher than he showed for the last month," Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia said.
Centre fielder Mike Trout scored on one hit while his slugging percentage also remained consistent at .588.
Torii Hunter added two RBIs on his four at-bats while he smashed three hits as well. He remained consistent on the plate and played aggrieve against all the Red Sox’s pitchers.
Designated hitter Albert Pujols scored one run on his three at-bats while he added one RBI as well on his .538 slugging percentage.
Kendrys Morales also did well on his four at-bats in which he scored two runs and two hits along with two RBIs on his slugging percentage of .451.
Shortstop Erick Aybar scored two runs and smashed two hits on his consistent .406 slugging percentage.
Along with batters, the Angels’ pitchers also did well and earned a great victory. C.J. Wilson started the game for the Angels and allowed only three runs and eight hits on his consistent 3.86 ERA.
“It's good to go out there and give the team what it needed, With the score the way it was, I just told myself I wasn't going to give in to that big inning, and it worked, That's the only chance we have, is to get hot, We have to come from behind and beat everybody in front of us," Wilson said.
Relief pitcher Jordan Walden also did well and supported his team-mate starter Wilson very well as he pitched one inning and did not received any run or hit on his 3.98 ERA.
