Los Angeles Angels hammered by Texas Rangers 3-7 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Angels were hammered by the Texas Rangers 3-7 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, June 3 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Starter Matt Harrison played wonderfully for the Rangers as he won his third straight win for his team as well. He remained calm and confident in his 6.2 innings spell allowing four hits and three runs. He also gave three earned runs and struck out three
Rangers’ batters.
Right fielder Nelson Cruz also played brilliantly for the Rangers and kept the Angels’ pitchers under pressure.
"It's fun to see how far it goes, but the main thing the situation it came in, I didn't watch where it landed, but I watched it go far enough." Cruz said with confidence.
Later left fielder Josh Hamilton stated in the media for his team’s combined effort and the extraordinary prowess they showed in the final game of the series despite losing the series.
Hamilton said, "That's not right. When we come back here, we're going to bring a range-finder and we're going to get an accurate measurement on that ball, that was the farthest ball I've ever seen hit. When you think about it, unless the wall is lying --
it says 387 to the wall, and 100 feet past that is 487. But the ball went another 100 feet past that.”
Though the series was already won by the Angels 2-0 on Saturday with one game to spare but still this win gave the Rangers little push forward ahead of their series against the Oakland Athletics.
From start of the game, the Rangers started off well and took the early one run’s lead into third while strengthened it to two into the fifth.
Though the Angels in the bottom fifth decreased the lead again to one run when short stop Erick Aybar provided the opportunity to right fielder Mark Trumbo to score but it was certainly not enough as from there onwards, the Rangers started an offensive run
made five quick runs which proved decisive in their great win.
