Los Angeles Angels infielder Mark Trumbo takes third base as a challenge – MLB News
Currently the Los Angeles Angels infielder Mark Trumbo is battling through a series of criticism from many baseball experts as he will not be influential on his new third base position.
Trumbo’s original playing position is first base, but due to the arrival of star slugger Albert Pujols, he had to move on to the third base.
Trumbo is known to take challenges, is once again proving his talents and adjusting well at third-base. His so far performance at new position is impressive as he gave much confident to the Angels top management to have faith on him.
Trumbo recently explained for his game and about the hard work he is putting into to play at third base. He said, “It takes some fortitude to go out there because you know if you fumble something, you're going to hear about it, I try to look at the big picture
and realize there are going to be some hiccups along the way, as long as you contribute in some other way, you're going to get through it.”
The entire Angels’ staff is also happy the way Trumbo is playing and trying to prove his game. Team manager Mike Scioscia said for Trumbo, “When he makes that one play that's a little tough, which he's capable of doing, and handles the routine stuff, I
think his confidence will rise and he'll get more games there."
Later general manager Jerry Dipoto added for Trumbo and said, “We know he's putting in the effort, and we're not expecting miracles.”
This is not the first time that Trumbo has proved his game via his brilliance on the field, but previously too, his game silenced many who earlier were criticising him. When Trumbo entered into the biggest baseball league in the world, many have said that
he will not achieve the level of play which the Angels’ management is expecting from him at the moment. It will take some years before Trumbo will be considered a well established player.
However, Trumbo started brilliantly and finished his rookie year on a high note when he was voted second in American League rookie-of-the-year voting.
