Los Angeles Angels interested to bring back outfielder Torii Hunter – MLB Update
Los Angeles Angels' General Manager is denying all the speculations about a rumour which says that the franchise is not interested in re-signing outfielder Torii Hunter.
"Finding a way to fit Torii in is a challenge, but we have been open that we want him back, We haven't closed the door on Torii and he hasn't closed the door on us," General Manager Jerry Dipoto said Thursday.
Dipoto added, "We think a lot of him (Hunter) as a person and as a player and we appreciate what he does in the clubhouse and in the community, But we have to do what we can do within the confines of the 25 man roster."
Instead, it seems that the Angels are quite confident and showing respect to Hunter’s extraordinary hitting in the Major League regular season. Hunter certainly played well in the recent regular season.
He finished with .313 hitting average along with 16 homers, 92 RBIs and .365 OBP. He won many games for the Angels and showed his determination.
Many experts stated earlier that it will be a very difficult situation for the Angels to re-sign Hunter as he already is 37 and at this age, not many players perform like they did in their younger years.
However, the Angels are in slight difficult situation as Hunter has performed beautifully in the past season. Some say that this was one of his best Major League seasons since he first came out onto the field.
With an already crowded outfield, with Trout, Mark Trumbo, Peter Bourjos and Vernon Wells, the Angels are also looking at this very perspective.
On the other hand, the Angels need some serious financial sources to give him a lucrative deal. They already are facing lots of trouble after their big players failed to perform. These aspects are very important to understand.
Meanwhile, it depends upon Hunter as well as what he is thinking at the moment. Some also raise questions that if he decided to leave the franchise than what will be the outcome for the Angels in the recent future.
