Los Angeles Angels introduce new pitchers – MLB Update
The Los Angeles Angels have been quite busy in trading some of their key players in this offseason. Though the Angels management traded most of the outfield players but several free agents pitchers left them as well.
These trades and few free agents’ signing with new Major League teams created not only a slight vacuum in the franchise but Angels’ rotation also felt a hard thumping.
However, now since the Angels’ front office pushed themselves towards in a recovery phase, they are taking some intelligent measures and showing the entire league their strength in starting rotation.
They recently introduced new pitchers in a press conference. These pitchers have recently joined the Angels and potentially hoping for a new beginning with the South Los Angeles baseball franchise.
Angels’ introduced Joe Blanton along with Tommy Hanson, reliever Sean Burnett and Ryan Madson on Wednesday and showed their fire power on the mound.
“What Joe represents to us is stability and a winning player. We need it, We'll let time tell how impactful he can be on this club. Joe fit our needs and did it in a way we wanted to create depth," General Manager Jerry Dipoto said.
Dipoto added, “Our goal was to create 1 through 12 pitching depth, I don't feel like anything else is imminent and anything else is required."
Later Blanton said, “All I care about is winning and hopefully going to a World Series, I know what I can do. If there's four guys on staff better than me I'm not unhappy because that means we're good."
As Zack Greinke left the Angels and joined the Los Angeles Dodgers, many started to believe that the Los Angeles Angels have now a very slight chance to rise again and play with their old offensive game plan.
In the meanwhile, all these four Major League pitchers are well equipped and considered attacking all round players. Their potential strengths will help the Angels grow further in the league.
Starter Joe Blanton is coming from the Dodgers’ franchise and possesses good ERA of 4.71 along with 10-13 win-loss, 166 strikeouts and 1.26 WHIP. Not only Blanton, but Hanson, Burnett and Madson are also productive players and will be helping the Angels
in the coming seasons with their best abilities.
