Los Angeles Angels make slight progress in Torii Hunter’s contract talks – MLB Update
The Los Angeles Angels' management knows that this past Major League season was a relatively good campaign for their batters.
Almost all the senior hitters did well and supported their team with enough fire power. However, it was their pitchers who certainly disappointed them and did not perform well.
In addition to this fact, the Angels do not want to lose any potential players who had performed well in 2012 Major League Baseball season. Since these well performers were almost hitters, they are trying to make sure that they will come with the same roster next year.
These days, right fielder Torii Hunter and his potential free agency matter are in limelight. Angels and Hunter still are far away from any mutual understanding regarding contract extension or a new fresh healthy deal.
However, some sources are now speculating in the media that both sides have made little progress over this late issue but still no conformation has come out in the media from both sides.
“It’s kind of disappointing, but what are you going to do? If they don’t make an offer by Friday, I guess I’m out of there. I haven’t talked to them in a couple of weeks, I don’t know where we stand,” said Hunter.
He added, “It’s weird, but it’s real, that’s the business side of it that people don’t like, Sometimes you have good people you want to keep there’s something that ties the organization down that doesn’t allow you to keep that player. Nothing against the Angels, but they have a lot of things going on. They have their hands tied right now.”
Torii is a very good player and he had a very good season with the Angels. Some say, he played some of his best plays this year in which he won many games for the Los Angeles Angels as well.
This is still a prediction that Torii and Angels will make any understanding for a new contract but this is certain that if this development does happen, it will be a very good sign for the Angels and they will come out more confident next year.
