Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia indicts poor pitching for bad results – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia with much frustration out of his team’s consistent poor performances is speaking in public and explaining the reasons as why the Angels’ are now out of wild card playoff races and have fallen down in American
League West Division.
According to Scioscia, the Angels’ starting rotation has been playing poorly while it is the foremost and big reason why they are down with literally no chance to bounce back into the competition.
"If we were talking about this in spring training, I'd be shocked to see some of the numbers that you would project our rotation to have, Some guys have certainly had a rough go. That's one thing about baseball — you don't have that crystal ball,” said Scioscia
on his team’s pitching which is giving the whole roster a tough time in order to play in the next round.
He added with more detail and highlighted on various aspects of his team’s starters, "You can project all you want. But when it comes down to guys doing what they can when they bring their talent onto the field, I think the pitching aspect is absolutely
something where we've paid the price for some guys not throwing the ball up to their capabilities."
Angels’ who started the season with a decent pace now caught themselves in a great difficulty where their chances to qualify for the post season are very few.
Scioscia has recently also called a closed-door meeting of his entire roster in which he raised some questions about his team’s some senior players’ performances and the way they are playing especially in the second half of the Major League season.
During that meeting too, Angels’ veteran manager talked to his players and some officials of club that the meagre starting rotation has to shift their gear if they really want their team to play in this year’s playoffs.
Currently, despite having the world class starting rotation led by experienced Jered Weaver, the results are not coming for the Angels and Weaver and along with rest of the starters struggle to grasp the true momentum.
