Los Angeles Angels outfielder Bobby Abreu not worried over Spring Training average – MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels veteran outfielder is relatively confident on his batting form and not worried regarding the slight low level of performance that he showed in the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training in Arizona, Cactus League.
In-fact he is taking-extremely light the recent training sessions and showing no bad signs or anything less passionate.
"It doesn't matter to me. My body's good, my swing is good. That's all I worry about. I know myself very well by now. I'm ready." Abreu said.
Abreu carried the slight .115 batting average in the Spring Training which was somewhat criticised in the media linking to his world class calibre, but not only Abreu did not like this criticism as he also later explained that this is not the right way to go about regarding any individual’s performance, but he also made clear that his game certainly will flourish in the coming season.
Angels hitting coach Mickey Hatcher on the other hand, thinks differently on Abreu’s game. He said later, “Something clicked; it's like the old Bobby now. We walked away and I could see it in his face. He repeated it the next two days in batting practice and has taken it into the last three games."
Bobby Abreu, a 16-year veteran, is playing well deserted baseball since 1996. He certainly knows his game and whenever his team needed him, he has showed them some true spirited performances.
His career batting average is consistent at .293 along with 284 home runs, 1325 RBIs and .397 OBP. His over the years’ performances also projected the very idea of his great athleticism and his true commitment with game. Some say that this late reaction from a world class player on his own batting and performance is quite healthy sign for the overall Angels’ roster.
He is a hugely experienced campaigner and has played for different Major League teams in the past. Starting from his career with the Houston Astros and then went on to play for the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees, Abreu joined the Angels in 2009 and from then onwards,  showing a great character as well as his true skills which has often won games for the South Los Angeles Baseball franchise.
