Los Angeles Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson will debut in temperatures nearing 50-degrees – MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels’ starting pitcher C.J. Wilson will be making his debut in conditions of approximately 50-degree mark in Minnesota when as he will start the game against Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
Former Texas Rangers ace pitcher Wilson recently showed some good plays during the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training as he went with achieving 1.11 ERA and 4-0 win loss record.
Now his $77.5 million deal is likely to pay back the Angels in this ongoing competition as he certainly possesses the abilities to take the game away from opponent’s hands singlehandedly.
Wilson’s past record shows the kind of brilliance that few in this league can achieve. His career ERA of 3.60 is considered one of the best among the current MLB legends. Few Leagues’ players like Mark Buehrle and Jamie Moyer match the brilliance of Wilson while all other and especially young ones are still to achieve this caliber.
Wilson said recently, “When I pitched there last year [as a Texas Ranger], it was raining and cold, the ball and guys were slipping and sliding all over the place, It affected the defense. That's the downside of not having a roof. Weather all across that part of the country in April and May is unknown. I'll just do what I have to do. You have a routine.”
He added, “You make it all the same. Pitching in Dodger Stadium [on Wednesday], a place I had watched growing up, with a lot of friends and family in the stadium, felt like a big deal.”
This is a healthy sign for the Angels as their one of the ace players is feeling well and planning to unfold his game with full thrust. Wilson is also hopeful that the Angels now have a fair chance to gain momentum in the game with the presence of start slugger Albert Pujols.
The Angels lately in the offseason has made two developments regarding roster power. Firstly they brought C.J Wilson and secondly they completed their batting lineup with Albert Pujols while now fans are watching anxiously for both players’ level of impact in the Angels winning consistency.
