Los Angeles Angels pleased over consistent first half of the season – MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels are pleased over their team effort in the first half of the 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Mid season break is approaching fast as all the teams including Angels’ are hoping for some good consistent play towards possible post-season qualification.
So far their management is happy on the level of performance their entire roster has showed.
Sitting comfortable at American League West in second position behind the Texas Rangers with a solid winning percentage of over .500, is a big achievement for the Angels.
Now as one unit, they are preparing for a wonderful new beginning into the second half of the season.
On critical grounds, the Angels performance still has solid base and baseball experts will certainly agree that their players’ have showed their true commitment and achieved this comfortable position.
Angels' out-fielder Torii Hunter commented on the teams current postion and said, "First semester, I would definitely have to give it a B, We started off with a D and worked our butt off, started to figure some things out, made some changes and ended up getting a B for the semester. Now we're in the flow of things and our goal is to get an A for the second semester."
Later left-hander C.J. Wilson also commented on the Angels' consistency and said, "We definitely turned the corner a while ago, It happened a little bit before we started playing better. It's one of those things where the team has to come together a little bit before you take off.”
It is also important to mention that the remainder of the season is going to be difficult. With wild card race and to finish top in the AL also makes the next round of play more interesting.
Last year’s World Series finalists Texas Rangers at the moment are ahead of the Angels but overall they still need to match the other AL top contenders’ brilliance.
New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles are the other main rivals who can give the Angels some tough competition in the race towards finishing top in the AL.
