Los Angeles Angels rally past Texas Rangers 15-8 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Angels’ defeated the Texas Rangers 15-8 in the first game of their four-match regular series Major League encounter on Monday, July 30 at Rangers Ballpark in Texas.
Angels’ played aggressive from start of the game and kept their opponents under pressure during the entire play which provided them a welcome victory over the Rangers.
Los Angeles' entire roster played a combined game and showed some spirited performance in a big win.
Angels’ pitchers along with some experienced hitters all played well and never showed any loop holes in any area and eventually earned a great victory.
Rangers however, could not show their true class and lost in the end with bitter humiliation.
Their pitchers and their veteran batters just failed to perform as they suffered a embarrassing defeat. This, despite showing a good performance in their previous game against the Chicago White Sox in which they defeated the Chicago side 2-0.
In Monday’s game, especially the pitchers performed certainly not up-to their potential and got hammered with big hits by the Angels' aggressive and destructive hitters.
“Up until the fifth inning, it was a very competitive game; Oswalt threw some good pitches, some good fastballs and some breaking balls," Rangers’ manager Ron Washington said.
Starter Roy Oswalt started the game for the Rangers and allowed eight significant runs, eleven hits and eight earned runs along with three homers on his mounting 6.49 ERA.
“I fought my mechanics the whole game, I told Mike after the second inning that I couldn't get a consistent arm angle. I was trying to get my mechanics in rhythm," Oswalt said.
Oswalt added, "I felt pretty good, but it was the first time out there in 11 or 12 days and I just didn't fall into sync, I never got any downward plane. I kept getting everything up, up, up. It was just a lack of not throwing."
Not only did Texas starter Oswalt pitched poorly, but his team-mate relief pitcher Robbie Ross and closer Michael Kirkman also did not pitch in accurate areas and were hammered with total seven runs.
