Los Angeles Angels rout Baltimore Orioles 6-0 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Baltimore Orioles 6-0 in the fourth and final game of their four-match regular series encounter on Sunday, July 8 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
Angels’ entire senior batting line-up played well and earned the series decisive win over the Orioles.
Albert Pujols and Mike Trout helped the Angels with their batting prowess and Brad Mills pitched tremendously to oust the Orioles in a one-sided play.
Mills tossed five innings and did not receive any run while he struck-out six batters helping his team to series decisive matchup.
“I found out yesterday that I was coming up here, and that's all you can hope for -- give the team a chance to win and help them take a big series going into the break, I was just mixing today. I didn't really throw my cutter much, but the changeup and curveball were there when I needed it," Mills said after the match with quite detail and commented on some of his game’s different aspects which helped him to stay calm on the mound for first five innings.
Mills added with more confidence praising his team’s top management as well and said, "Jerry (general manager Jerry DiPoto) called me and said that they liked me as a starter, That's all I've ever been, coming up through the minors. So when I got traded, I was really, really excited to get a fresh start.”
On the other hand, Orioles' starter Wei-Yin Chen received five runs, five hits and five earned runs along with a homer. He struck-out five as ERA rose to 3.93.
Relief pitcher Luis Ayala also could not hold on to his natural fast game and was smashed for a homer in the fifth.
Angels’ from start of the game played aggressive and put the Orioles under extreme pressure. Going into a one run lead in the second inning of play, the Angels’ made another three quick runs in the third inning and showed their ultimate intention.
Later in the fourth and fifth inning, Angels’ scored two more runs which eventually proved decisive as they ousted the Orioles in great style.
