Los Angeles Angels rout Texas Rangers 11-3 – MLB Recap
Los Angeles Angels defeated the Texas Rangers 11-3 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, September 18 at Angel Stadium in California.
Jered Weaver tossed seven solid innings and showed his class with great energy. He pitched aggressively and won the game for the Los Angeles Angels. Receiving three runs and six hits, Angels’ starter stood tall against the Rangers' batters and kept them under pressure during his entire spell.
Though he received two homers but he struck-out two Rangers’ hitters on his consistent 2.79 ERA.
"It's an honor to do it all in an Angels uniform. I wouldn't have it any other way. Hopefully these fans see 200 more, but I don't know. We'll see what happens, It felt like a rain delay out there, But when runs are coming across the board, you can't complain too much,” said Weaver after the game and explained about his and the team’s performance.           
Texas manager Ron Washington also commented on his team’s poor performance in detail and said, "It got out of control, We just couldn't get any outs. Dempster struggled from the beginning. It was a fight the whole time, and in that fourth inning, they just took the game away from us."
Along with Weaver, the Angels other pitchers also showed great resilience and won the game for their team.
Relief pitcher LaTroy Hawkins pitched one inning and did not allow any run or hit. He remained calm on the mound and showed great consistency on his 3.48 ERA.
On the other hand, the Texas' pitchers were hammered with great force by the Angels' batters.
Ryan Dempster pitched 3.1 innings and allowed five runs and six hits. He was not able to strike-out any batter while his ERA rose to 4.70.
Relief pitcher Mark Lowe pitched only 0.2 innings and received three runs and three hits. He also could strike-out any batter as his ERA remained at 3.26.
Closer Yoshinori Tateyama also played under pressure and received one run and one hit on his blistering 10.43 ERA.
