Los Angeles Angels slugger Albert Pujols’ misery continuous – MLB News
The Los Angeles Angels star slugger Albert Pujols’ struggle is now going into sixth straight week of ongoing Major League Baseball season.
The highly paid slugger was brought into the Angels due to the dire batting situation of the franchise from past two years. The fans were not pleased and the Angels’ home field never looked crowded with happy fans until the franchise decided to took a drastic step and signed a massive $240 million contract with 2011 World Series winner Pujols and tried to bring back the happy days of Angels Stadium.
However, the management of Angels’ still watch any productive hit from their priced slugger who is yet playing without a home-run. His slugging percentage has dropped to career low and facing huge problems to connect the bat on right deliveries.
His average has fallen to .194 as now he is sitting in a quite narrow corner where the Angels’ fans are booing him on his every outing.
In a recent game against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Angels star hitter once again failed to produce anything.
"It's part of the big league package, I understand that and accept it," Pujols said. "I'd boo myself, too. But by the end of 10 years, trust me, there will be more cheers than boos."
"Albert understands what this is about, he understands the expectations," manager Mike Scioscia said. "I don't think he's going to be derailed by the situation."
Though team manager and Pujols himself are quite sure as the future will be bright, but experts have a total different perspective and feel that this lame attitude and persistent poor display of skills will no longer give any further respect to former St. Louis Cardinals’ player.
On the other hand, these kinds of constant failed performances will also no longer keep the Angels on top. They soon will realise that how important their combined performance should have impacted on the current results of the team instead putting entire responsibility on the shoulders of Albert Pujols who is playing his first season with the Angels and still needs much time to settle in the new environment.
