Los Angeles Angels surpass Chicago White Sox 4-1 – MLB Recap
Los Angeles Angels surpassed Chicago White Sox 4-1 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, September 23 at Angel Stadium in California.
Jered Weaver showed his class as he tossed 6.1 innings and outclassed the White Sox’s entire batting line-up.
He received one run and five hits while maintained his ERA at 2.74. He retired four player during his entire spell.
“Obviously there's a little bit of scoreboard watching going on now as we dwindle now here, But we've got to do what we've got to do and not worry about what other teams are doing. It's obviously a great sweep, and hopefully we can keep it rolling against Seattle," Weaver said.
Weaver added, "To get one more than last year is great, and now I've got a couple more starts to try and get 20, It wasn't a personal goal of mine by any means, but it's nice to get a new career high. Any win right now is important, personal accolades aside.”
Kevin Jepsen pitched 1.2 innings and allowed one hit on his 3.00 ERA. He retired two potential White Sox’s hitters and proved his valour.
Along with pitchers, Angels' batters also did well on the plate and earned a great victory in the end.
Right fielder Torii Hunter scored one run and smashed one hit on his four at-bats. He played offensively and maintained his slugging percentage at .441.
Designated hitter Albert Pujols scored one run smashed three hits along with two RBIs while he also remained consistent on his .525 slugging percentage.
First baseman Kendrys Morales batted three times and scored one run and one hit along with two important RBIs. He hammered the White Sox pitchers with enormous energy and proved his class.
On the other hand, the White Sox pitchers and batters did not play well and lost with bitter humiliation. Starting pitcher Gavin Floyd pitched six innings and received four runs and seven hits along with one home-run. He could not pitch in right areas which caused his team in a big way as they were defeated with three-run deficit.
