Los Angeles Angels surpass city rivals Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 – MLB Update
The Los Angeles Angels surpassed the city rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, June 11 at Dodger Stadium in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The Angels played from their opponents and won with narrow margin.
Star slugger Albert Pujols and Mike Trout played well and helped the Angels to go ahead in the three-match series.
"I never think like that, I go up with the mind that they're going to pitch to me and I look for a good pitch to hit. He pitched me tough; the pitch was not a good pitch to hit." Pujols said
Later the Angels manager Mike Scioscia said for both players’ contribution as well as his team’s combined effort. "If we want to be a good team, we want to go deep with our lineup, The way Mark's swinging the bat, it's going to give Albert more looks. We've
got to keep that going."
The Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly also came out in the media and told the reporters about his team’s poor effort. He said, "It's not a great choice either way, It's a situation where you pick your poison. We feel like Kenley can go after anyone."
The Dodgers, despite taking lead in the very first inning, could not do much and soon found themselves in the Angels’ shattering where they constantly put pressure on their opponents and won the game in the end.
In bottom fourth, the Angels not only overcome the Dodgers’ two runs’ lead but they also stretched their own lead to three runs and eventually won with one run’s difference.
Now the Angels have a fair chance to qualify for the post season. They are in good form and their winning percentage is also increasing with every triumph. Currently they are at second position in the American League West with 33-29 win loss record along
with .532 winning percentage.
On the other hand, the Dodgers, despite the loss, still are at top position in the National League West Division and keeping their hopes alive for the post season qualification.
