Los Angeles Clippers clip a 113 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves 90
Staples Center roared with loud cheers and boos as more than 16,000 basketball fans gathered to experience a very thrilling game between two stragglers of this season. The Timberwolves were deflated to a meager 2nd half
and returned home with their 23rd loss of the season. The Clippers dazed them to their eighth victory, not very impressive in itself but the Clippers marveled the game with a rather good play.
The game lasted 2 hours and 18 minutes and during that time the lead changed 11 times and the game was tied six times. However, the Clippers did not allow the Timberwolves a single point lead after the second half.
Eric Gordon led the game with 36 points as he dominated the 3rd quarter with lots of dunks and jump shots that ignited them to a 94-79 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gordon gave six assists to follow with his
36 points.
Ryan Gomes and Blake Griffin added 22 points apiece to the box score and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Clippers. Griffin also gave seven assists to level the scores. DeAndre Jordan contributed nine points and grabbed nine rebounds
for the Clippers.
The Clippers grabbed 12 team rebounds.
Michael Beasley scored 20 points and grabbed four rebounds for the Timberwolves. Martell Webster had 18 points to his credit and grabbed five rebounds while Kevin Love dished out 12 points and dunked in to grab 10 rebounds for
Minnesota.
The Minnesota Timberwolves grabbed eight team rebounds.
Highlights
The game started with a rebound howled by Love for the Timberwolves. Minnesota kept close to the Clippers in the first quarter and lost track of them after Al-Farouq Aminu grabbed a rebound for the Clippers and Gordon grabbed a
driving layup shot assisted by Griffin. The Timberwolves’ blood froze as they watched Gordon going away with a three pointer assisted by the dangerous Griffin once again.
The Clippers were leading at the end of the 1st quarter 34-31.
Webster leveled the scores as he added a three pointer shot to the Timberwolves’ box score.
The Wolves kept catching up to the Clippers time after time and Gomes tipped up shots and grabbed a rebound with 3:26 on the clock that flicked a five point lead for the Clippers 58-53.
The end of the 2nd quarter saw the Clippers with a ten point lead 68-58.
The Clippers never looked back after the second half, keeping the game as intense as they could and stopped when the game ended with them with a 23 point lead over the Timberwolves 113-90.
