Los Angeles Clippers continue their winning streak with a 94-89 win over Chicago Bulls: NBA Recap
The Clippers extend their winning streak to 7 games when they dropped the Chicago Bulls 94-89 on the road, snapping the Bulls’ season-high 3 game winning streak.
The last time a Clippers team won 7 games in a row was way back in 1991 when they won 8 straight to set the franchise record. With their current form the Clips will be looking to better that record soon.
Blake Griffin led the Clippers with a double-double as he scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Chris Paul had only four assists on the night but he posted 18 points to make up for it, while Matt Barnes chipped in with 14.
Carlos Boozer had a big night. He scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, Marco Belinelli collected 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Bulls, who shot 10 of 20 from the three point range. Their average so far this season has been
four 3-pointers a game. Los Angeles were held to 40 percent shooting in the first half but shot around 53 percent in the second one.
The start to the game was cold with no one scoring a basket for the first two minutes. Paul nailed one from downtown to put the Clips up 11-6 around the 6 minute mark. Both teams started making their shots later in the period and
a Robinson free throw had the Bulls trailing 16-17 deep. The Clippers were leading 21-18 by the end of the period.
Ronny Turiaf’s deuce early in the second period had the Clippers up 25-20. The Bulls owned the three point land for a brief passage as three 3-pointers cut the deficit down to 29-30. Taj Gibson’s jumper put the Bulls in front but
Griffin knocked one down from behind the arc to tie the score on 35. It was a one point game on 41-40 for the Clips, who closed the period on a high as they pushed their advantage to 47-40.
Chris Paul made a jump shot in the early goings of the third period to put the Clips up by 51-42, but the Bulls were made a comeback. Belinelli nailed a three pointer to make it a one point game on 54-55 and a Boozer free throw,
moments later, tied the score on 57. Los Angeles closed the quarter on a high note though and headed into the final period leading 69-65.
Eric Bledsoe scored a deuce early in the final period to push Clippers lead to 77-69. The Bulls tried hard and Joakim Noah tipped one in to cut the deficit down to 80-85 with 4 minutes on the regulation. Chicago made it a two point
game on 89-91 with 22.5 seconds to go but the Clippers held them off for a 94-89 win.
