Los Angeles Clippers defeat Oklahoma City Thunder to get first win of the season
After a disheartening first four games, the Clippers captured a win with a 107-92 drubbing of Oklahoma City Thunder at Staples Center, Los Angeles. It is not very wrong to call Eric Bledsoe the Baby Ruth for the Clippers, because the way he headed his team
in the final moment and led his team to its first victory of the season is awesome. A cluster of 18,414 fans attended the match.
Thunder's prominent players of the match
Five Thunder players remained prominent by scoring points in double digits. Jeff Green is the highest scorer with 19 points. Kevin Durant and Westbrook are the second highest scorers with 16 points each. Serge Ibaka remained at number three with 14 points.
Daequan Cook added 13 points.
Clipper's prominent players of the match
Four players from the Clippers led the team towards success. Eric Gordon remained the top scorer for with an unbeatable 27 points. The second top scorer was Blake Griffin with 18 points. Then it was Bledsoe with 17 points. Ryan Gomes is at number four with
12 points.
Man of the Match
The man of the match for the tussle is none other than Bledsoe because of the fact that he played the last moment incredibly and turned the tensed and tough atmosphere into a cheerful one. The match remained memorable for Bledsoe, when he headed to the bench
in the final minute and the Clippers' fans rose to their feet for an ovation.
First Quarter
Thunder played the first quarter very well and took the lead by 6 points. Durant scored the highest, 6 points for Thunders in the first session. Green, Ibaka, and Westbrook (The Quadrants) added 4 points each.
Butler played the first session well and scored 6 points for Clippers. Gordon scored 5 points. Gomes and Griffin individually scored 4 points. Kaman, Smith, Jordan and Bledsoe added 2 points each in the second half.
Score: Thunder leads by 27 – 21.
Second Quarter
Thunders maintained their lead over the Clippers in the second part of the game as well. Green played fine and scored 13 important points for Thunder. Durant and Krstic added 4 points each. Westbrook scored 2 points.
At the Clippers end, Gordon remained heavy over others with 9 points. Bledsoe with one point short added 8 points. Griffin scored 2 points with one basket.
Score: Thunder leads by 53 – 43.
Third Quarter
The third quarter also remained under the hold of Thunder. Westbrook scored 8 points. Ibaka added 6 points and Durant scored 4 points.
Griffin added another 9 points for Clippers in the third session. Gomes scored 8 points and Bledsoe added 4 points to the scoreboard.
Score: Thunder leads by 80–66.
Fourth Quarter
The fourth quarter was none other than a wakeup call for the Clippers. The Clippers caught fire and turned the game into an unbelievable victory.
Gordon added 8 points for the Clippers in the final session. Griffin, Butler, and Bledsoe (The Triangular) added 3 points each for Clippers.
Cooks played well at Thunder’s corner by adding 10 points. Maynor, White, Harden, and Westbrook added 2 points each.
Score: Clippers won by 92 – 107.
Turning Point
The turning point of the game is the final session when the three quarters lead of Thunder were turned into defeat by the teamwork and amazing performance of Bledsoe.

The overall top scorer of the game Eric Gordon said, "We needed this win at home before we get on the road and play against another couple good teams. At least this gives us an idea about how to win."
Kevin Durant of Thunder said, "I didn't show up. I am the leader of this team. Everybody follows me, so if I do not show up, the team will not show up. That's why we lost".
