Los Angeles Clippers get eight home fixtures to start next season – NBA Feature Part 1
The NBA announced their schedule for the coming season last week and has put up some very exciting fixtures to start off the campaign. Even though few teams have been thrown onto a lesser broadcasted schedule, especially the Sacramento
Kings, but there is one team which could not have asked for a better schedule to start off the season.
The Los Angeles Clippers schedule for next season sees them take on a lot NBA teams playing at the Staples Center. In the first nine games of the season, Clippers have been given eight fixtures at home.
In the first matchup of the season, which is on Halloween night, they will take on the Memphis Grizzlies. It would be an interesting matchup given the exciting seven game first round series between the two sides in the last season’s
playoffs.
Clippers, who won in the end, had to face a tough and physical line up in the first round last season. However courtesy of their All-Star point guard Chris Paul, who put up some splendid performances, the LA based team was just
able to scrape through.
In the first game of the series, the Clippers faced a 27 points deficit with 9:13 remaining in the final quarter. However when the final whistle came about, Clips were able to turn the game on its head by recording one of the most
impressive comebacks in playoff history. To start next season with a matchup of such high magnitude would be a treat for basketball fans all over the world.
If the first game of the Clippers schedule is impressive, NBA management followed that up with an even more intriguing one, in which the Lakers will battle the Clippers in the battle of Los Angeles.
This would be an interesting fixture and the Clippers would want to retain their new found supremacy in LA. On the other hand the Lakers, with Steve Nash onboard, would be rearing to renew their supremacy.
That will also be the first time when Lamar Odom takes on his former team in the Clippers uniform. Odom had been a key part of the Lakers line prior to last season and played a major role in bringing home back to back NBA Championships
to the Lakers.
However rumours of being traded away by the Lakers management in the nixed Chris Paul deal led to his departure from the team, he had grown so fond of over the years. His next team were the Dallas Mavericks, but LO could never
settle down and now that he is back in Hollywood, Odom certainly would have a point to prove.
