Los Angeles Clippers get eight home fixtures to start next season – NBA Feature Part 2
In the third matchup of the season the Los Angeles Clippers play hosts to the Golden State Warriors. Looking at the performances from last season, many would predict this one to be an easy fixture for the Clippers; however the
young core of the Warriors cannot be counted out.
Comparing the two line ups, the Clippers have been able to form a respectable roster in the past two seasons. They brought in Chris Paul prior to start of last season to play alongside Blake Griffin, and CP3 arrival has given rise
to the ‘Lob City’ phenomenon.
The Clippers finished last season in a respectable position as they qualified for the playoffs for the third time in franchise history. Their playoff ambitions were short lived as they faced the stiff task of facing the San Antonio
Spurs in the second round and could not even register a single win.
So far in the off-season the, Clippers have one on to add to their arsenal as Lamar Odom and Jamal Crawford have come over. On top of making new signings, Clippers would be highly relieved to see the return of Chauncey Billups
who could not take part in most of last season because of injury.
On the other hand, the Warriors would want not want to suffer a defeat in the early stages of next season. They are more than capable of coming out to shock the Clippers at the Staples but everything is dependent on the fact that
whether they are able to get Stephen Curry and Andrew Bogut out of injury trouble.
The fourth match of their schedule for the coming season will see the ‘Lob City’ play hosts to the young team of Cleveland Cavaliers. This would be the type of game; in which the Clippers like to show their experience.
An interesting thing for the Clippers would be to see how Tristan Thompson tackles Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan is the low post.
Another interesting matchup this fixture would put up an exciting battle at the point guard position as Kyrie Irving goes head to head to with one of the best point guards in the league - Chris Paul.
Irving did manage to finish last season by bagging the Rookie of the Year honours, however was unable to help his team in the closing stages because of being sidelined due to injury.  At the moment, he is trying to recover from
a broken hand he suffered during the Las Vegas Summer League.
He has vowed to be a more effective player this time around, but against CP3, his work will be cut out.
