Los Angeles Clippers get eight home fixtures to start next season – NBA Feature Part 4
To roundup the series of upcoming 8 home games at the start of next season, the Los Angeles Clippers will face off against two of the best teams in the NBA, and get a chance to cement themselves as strong contenders.
The addition of Chris Paul was just the first step in the path of success and making it to the playoffs for only the third in franchise history is mere proof that they are set on the right path. So far in the off-season, they have gone ahead to further strengthen their roster and when they face off against the reigning NBA Champions, Miami Heat in their 7th fixture of next season, they would surely need all their weapons to be firing on all cylinders.
There can be no doubt that the Lob City phenomenon was spectacular last season but is Griffin ready to take on the role of being a leader for his team? Will he come out as ready to be a dominant force in the paint? As opposed to being just a high flier – a characteristic he has relied most in the past to do his scoring.
As great as Paul is at the point guard position, the remaining Clippers roster will need to step their games up in major fashion. The veteran presence of Chauncey Billups will be required to add that stability to the line up while the likes of Lamar Odom and Jamal Crawford will need to bring the much needed experience to this Clippers roster.
If they want to have any kind of chance of having a strong chance against the likes of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, Clippers will have to come out strongly if they want to prove to everybody that their presence in the playoffs last season was not just a fluke but rather a positive step in the path to progress they want to make in the coming seasons.
On the other hand, Miami will be seeking revenge as they lost twice to the Clippers last season in their Championship campaign which sets up this fixture to be very exciting for the people of Hollywood.
If the Miami fixture will be exciting the Staples Center crowd would love to see the Chicago Bulls come their way to wrap up their run of home games to start next season. Bulls held the best record in the NBA for the past two years and despite injuries to star players like Derrick Rose, head coach, Tom Thibodeau is likely to still have his roster as ready as possible for next season.
However the odds may be stacked up favour of the Clippers who would like their chances against a depleted Chicago roster. So far in the off-season, the Bulls have lost much of their bench mob which has been a key reason for their success in the past few years. But that does not mean that they have not added any significant recruits.
They have added Kirk Hinrich and Nate Robinson to their line up along with a few others in order to retain their bench production. There can be no doubt that Clippers have a better chance with the Bulls troubled with injuries but that does not mean at all that the visiting Chicago team will go down without a fight.
