Los Angeles Clippers star forward Blake Griffin working hard amid lockout – NBA Update
In the middle of the lockout, Los Angeles Clippers star forward Blake Griffin has decided to spend time in Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach. Along with the freshly drafted No. 2 pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Derrick Williams, Griffin is playing some pickup games.
Griffin, who was making the best of the opportunity in the absence of the franchise facilities to keep himself fit for the game, didn’t have to go through the unfortunate occurrence that Williams is facing at the moment. The lockout has put his National Basketball Association career on hold, and he now has to wait for the lockout end in order to get suited up for the Minnesota.
Same is the case with the Los Angeles Lakers recently drafted Darius Morris, who has also joined forces with the Blake and Williams. All these players are gathered nowadays at the Gameshape for work outs. Gameshape is a company run jointly by ex-massage therapist of the Lakers Marko Yrjovuori and Lamar Odom’s personal trainer Robbie Davis.
At this point in time some players are carrying out individual practices, or under former players, few are rehabilitating from their injuries, while others are participating in the weekend games on different locations.
One such weekend spot is Drew League in the south of L.A. UCLA and Loyola Marymount are also hosting few games, but Griffin and others are working hard at the Gamshape.
Griffin is reportedly working hard on his jump shot that remained a trouble area for him last season. In addition to that, the ‘2011 NBA Rookie of the Year’ is following specific training routine that will help him strengthen the weak parts of his body.
Griffin is not in any sort of hurry to sign a deal with any international team, as his first priority seems to get in shape in order to play for the Clips as soon as the players union and the league makes an accord over the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
